The 2009 Old Boy's Rugby Tournament will maintain the traditional format - rugby on Saturday May 2, recovery on Sunday May 3, 2009. Players will be guaranteed 3 games with no worse (or better) than a 3rd place finish.

There will be a sign-up board at The Landing on Friday night for individuals looking for a team to play with. There is a $500 (U.S.) entry fee for each team - portions are donated to charity, including the Sophie Tarbuck Foundation and the Wellness Community South Bay Cities.

This is an over 40's event and ID's will be checked if there are any questions of age. Bring a current driver's license or passport and be prepared to show it. In an effort to promote the spirit of the Old Boys game we will be cracking down on excessive or unnecessary violence. Please remember - your team can do no better or worse than 3rd place. If there is any question about it Joe will give you your trophy first thing each morning.

Note: Due to the extreme crackdown of security for arriving visitors to the United States we urge all foreign visitors to start early on all paperwork for visas and travel. We in Southern California have had examples of teams not being issued travel visas and entry permits because of security concerns. Please start early and be thorough. We in Rugby think of all teams and countries as being equal - unfortunately the U.S. government does not and some teams and some countries are more equal than others. All teams from outside the U.S. coming to the Catalina Rugby Festival should be aware of this.
