Hear first hand stories on Archaeology on Catalina Island. The program will be presented at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15th at the Nature center at Avalon Canyon. Free transportation on a "Conservancy" van will be provided. The van will depart from the Plaza starting at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

This presentation is a unique opportunity to hear first hand stories on Archaeology on Catalina Island from Kieth Johnson, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at California State University, Chico.

Keith worked on Catalina Island as part of an early UCLA Archaeology research project in the 1950's. From "pot hunters" to bowl scars, and early digs, this is a presentation you won't want to miss.
