AVALON, CATALINA ISLAND - Through the gracious donations of the Lions and Rotary Clubs, the City of Avalon Recreation Department will again be distributing food to local families. In the current economic times there was a large influx of need this year. The Recreation Department with help from Scout Pack 400 will be delivering food to 110 families.
The box contains traditional fixings such as potatoes, stuffing, veggies, corn bread, yams, cranberry sauce, beans and rice. Also, a $15 gift card from Von's to purchase the turkey or ham. What a true blessing to live in such a giving community the service organizations went above and beyond to help this year. The Recreation Department wishes everyone a safe, healthy and happy holiday.
