Social worker to offer counseling services
|

Catalina Island Medical Center is now offering mental health services. Dawn Sampson, who received her masters in social work in 2001, recently became a licensed clinical social worker - a designation that required that Sampson provide 3,200 hours of supervised therapy as well as pass two comprehensive examinations. That designation also allows her to provide therapy to the island community.

Avalon Harbor Activity Report - March 2006

Weather in March was not the best for boaters visiting Catalina Island, with 8 SCA and one gale force warning occurring mostly on weekends accounted for lower than usual boating activity. Harbor Patrol Officers were kept busy removing and installing dinghy docks with each SCA received. The season is quickly approaching----The Fish Market, Joe's Rent-a-Boat and Wetspot all prepared for opening the first week in April.
