Cub/Boy Scouts Annual Food Drive

Avalon Troop and Pack 400 Cub and Boy Scouts will be participating in their annual dry and canned food drive on November 24th and 25th. Scouts will be dropping off food collection bags at local residences on Monday, November 24th from 4-6pm and will return to pick them up on Tuesday November 25th from 4:30-6pm. Bags of food can be left outside for pick up on Tuesday November 25th.

Lancers Cross Country team qualifies For CIF Finals

Both the Girls and Boys cross country teams competed at CIF prelims on Nov. 15. When the dust cleared and the competition ended, both teams for the first time in Catalina Island's cross country history, qualified to compete in next weeks' CIF Finals.

Catalina Island Triathlon a huge success

On November 8th, nearly 700 athletes traveled to the City of Avalon to compete in the 24th Annual Catalina Island Triathlon. Once again, the event was a huge success, thanks to a challenging course, perfect race-day weather, and the participation of so many great athletes.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Around Avalon the holiday lights are going up and there's a hustle and bustle in the air. Since 2004 local ladies have gathered on the first Saturday of December at a special event to kick off the Christmas Season. Well, it's that time of year again. Mark your calendars for Saturday December 6th at 9:30 AM to attend the Catalina Island Ladies Christmas Brunch at the Metropole Conference Room. Plan to invite a friend, co-worker or neighbor to join you. $5 is the cost and there's a ticket waiting with YOUR name on it
