1st Annual Lodging Open House a huge success

Pat Jamieson, Member Services Manager for the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau stated that the 1st Annual Lodging Open House held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 was a HUGE success! Seventeen hotels participated in the event and well over a hundred people from the community as well as visitors were in attendance. All of the participating hotels served light snacks and beverages as well as offering door prizes.

Catalina Grand Prix 50th Reunion Classic Bike Show Apr 26-27

The jewel of Southern California, Santa Catalina Island, will once again welcome motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world as Eddie Mulder, Ltd celebrates the 50th anniversary of the last Catalina Grand Prix race with a 50th reunion and Classic Motorcycle Show the weekend of April 26-27. A rare opportunity, as motorcycles have not been allowed on the island in many years, for commemorating the free-wheeling, adventurous, legendary racing pioneers of yesteryear. Although not a race, representatives of the glory days of racing both human and machine will be featured including unique Catalina G.P. competition bikes.

Pat Jamieson graduates from Chamber Academy

Pat Jamieson, the Member Service Manager for Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, was among the 20 participants in the third year class of Academy, a professional development program presented by the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E). Ms. Jamieson's official graduation took place on February 6th, 2008 at the W.A.C.E. Conference in San Diego.
