Two Harbor Summer Naturalist Programs

The Catalina Island Conservancy will be hosting the following West End programs from Friday, June 27th through Thursday, August 21st.
 
Meet a Naturalist (In Two Harbors right off the pier)
Wednesday-Friday 10am-1pm
Saturdays & Sundays 11am-2pm
Right off the pier are the answers to all of your questions about Catalina Island's unique natural history and conservation stories.  A Catalina Island Conservancy Summer Naturalist will be on hand 7 days a week.

Aquarium of the Pacific breaks ground on environmental exhibition and classroom

From cities looking to recycle waste water to restrictions on garden watering, water issues are becoming more pressing. The Aquarium of the Pacific has announced plans for Our Watersheds: Pathway to the Pacific, a new addition that will provide its Southern California visitors with sustainable solutions and the knowledge to make a difference at any age. The nonprofit Aquarium announced plans today to open a new watershed environmental exhibition, classroom, and native garden in November of 2008.

27th Annual Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup

The 27th Annual Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008. This is the one time a year that diving is permitted in Avalon Harbor and has become Southern California's most popular diving event. Last year, 550 divers from California and other western states and even some foreign countries turned out to clean up Avalon Harbor and have a lot of fun at the same time.
