Hundreds of Avalon residents will be asked to share their opinions related to youth in our community. In the next few weeks, 800 copies of a survey will be mailed to randomly selected homes throughout Avalon. The survey asks residents for their opinions on the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs among young people.
The Minnesota Institute of Public Health designed the survey and will compile its results. The CHOICES Coalition will review the findings as they work to reduce substance abuse among youth.
Residents selected to participate will receive a pre-notificaiton letter followed by a survey. All survey answers will be anonymous, and participants will be asked to return the survey using the self-addressed, stamped envolope provided.
In appreciation of residents participating in the survey, a small gift will be included with the survey.
