This Sunday, April 6, marks the 12th Annual Rubber Ducky Derby. This fundraiser takes place down at South Beach and draws hundreds of spectators and participants. Pre-purchased ducks can check in for their heat between 9:00am and 11:30am, and the event kicks off at High Noon with the extra large Corporate Ducks racing first.
The hundreds of individual ducks will then race to shore in two heats and culminates with the top ten fastest race ducks battling it out for the title of top race duck. Following the final race there will be a "Show Duck" decorated duck contest. "Show Ducks" are not allowed in the water and are always an impressive sight to behold. "Keppel's Kitchen" will again be serving up food and fun for the whole family. All proceeds from this hilarious event go to Kids At Play, the local children's theatre program open to students 7 years old through eighth grade. If you haven't purchased a duck yet, do not fret! Ducks will be available for adoption the day of the event.
See you at the races!
