The community is invited to visit the museum for free during the Catalina Island Museum's first annual Local Days event. From Friday, February 22 through Monday, February 25 admission to the museum is free to all full or part-time residents-just bring some form of i.d. or proof of residency. In addition, during Local Days get 10% off in the Museum Store and free admission to the Tile Walking Tour which will run each day at 2 p.m. (advanced reservations are recommended).
"We hope lots of folks will take advantage of Local Days. It's a great time of year to come out and see what's changed at the Museum. If you haven't been out in a few years, you'll see several different exhibits and great new products in our store," said new store manager Suzanne Ruplinger. The newest exhibit is the annual Catalina plein air painting show which just opened late last month.
Be sure to visit the museum this weekend to learn more about Catalina's amazing history. The Museum is located on the ground floor of the Casino Building and is open 6 days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on Thursdays through the end of March). More information is available on our website.
