Aboard the fast and comfortable Catalina Flyer ferry the views are spectacular of undisturbed canyons and vibrant cliffs that dominate her "backside". Sponsored by the non-profit American Cetacean Society's Orange County Chapter, the boat departs Newport Beach at 9:00 a.m., returning at 5:00 p.m. after an hour-long stop in Avalon. If you are already on Catalina, board the Catalina Flyer in Avalon at 10:00 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m. Bring a lunch and your camera.
