Reyn Spooner and Buoys & Gulls Support Catalina Island Museum

To support the Catalina Island Museum's mission to collect, preserve and share Catalina's wonderful cultural heritage, Reyn Spooner and Buoys & Gulls have joined together to produce a limited edition shirt called Avalon Summer Shores, featuring many key historical landmarks and features: the Miss Catalina speedboats, Chimes Tower, Casino, seaplanes and more.

Together the two entities are donating 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the shirt to support the Museum's many programs and activities that preserve and promote Catalina's history.  Reyn Spooner has its own Catalina historical connections.  Founder Reyn McCullough created a successful local men's clothing company in Avalon before deciding in the 1950s that Hawaii was an exciting new market and pulling up stakes and moving to the Aloha State.

Sales of the limited edition shirt are going strong.  Buoys & Gulls owner Jerry Dunn presented the Museum's executive director, Stacey Otte, with a  $2,400 donation representing sales through mid-June.  "We're very grateful for the support from Reyn Spooner and Buoys & Gulls which will help us to preserve our island's heritage," said Otte.

The Catalina Island Museum is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1953 and dedicated to the purpose of preserving and sharing Catalina's unique cultural heritage.  The Museum is located on the ground floor of the historic Casino building and is open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Upcoming and feature events and exhibits can be found on their website.
