Fire Update - Wednesday 5/16/07 Noon
- Visitors are welcome to travel to Avalon.
- Air quality is good and all Avalon businesses are open.
- The Hoe-Down will go on as planned for May 19th and 20th.
- All areas in Avalon are open.
- There are no shortages of goods or services in Avalon.
- Avalon Schools, Isthmus School and Kid Ventures are open.
- City Hall is open for normal business.
- Restoring electricity to the interior of the island will take approximately 10 days. One of the two main lines has to be replaced.
- The fire consumed 4,750 acres.
