The Catalina Island Humane Society is happy to announce two more successful adoptions! After patiently waiting at our adoption trailer, both cats have now gone to loving, forever homes. Since it is now "kitten season", trailer manager Ann Kuns is urging folks to keep your eyes open for homeless babies, and notify the CI Humane Society at 310-510-1900 if you happen to see any.
If you love animals, and care about the homeless animals with whom we share our special community, it's a great time to volunteer and help out with the work that needs to be done. Catalina Island Humane Society volunteer jobs are now available. The positions are varied.
For instance, we need the services of a carpenter, a plumber, and an attorney.
When occupied, our Adoption Center trailer needs volunteers to assist in caring for the animals, and to keep up maintenance of the cages, food and water dishes, and so forth.
People to assist with important clerical procedures and office work are needed.
We have much educational material, and we need people to go into local classrooms to help teach our youngsters about humane ways to interact with the animals, and encourage them to do so.
There are worthwhile projects to be done, and they are very important! No matter how little or how much time and expertise you can give, what you do will make a big difference, and you will be appreciated. For further information, please phone 310-510-1900, leave a message (including how to contact you), and a volunteer will get back to you.
Once again, The CI Humane Society will be participating in the annual Catalina Island Health Fair, in the Catalina Casino Ballroom on Thursday, April 19, 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. We'll have a booth with information on how to keep your pets safe and healthy, hazards to avoid, and so forth.
Our next CI Humane Society General Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 6 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers. Everyone is welcome to attend!
