Thanks to a donation from a marketing firm the Catalina Island Museum has a brand new website. Alan Peterson, CEO of The Peterson Group, who also donated the creation of the museum's logo and stationery two years ago, just finished the Museum's first independent website. The website artfully keeps visitors up-to-date with the museum's offerings as well as history. Whether you're a first time visitor to the Island or a student writing a paper on Catalina history, you'll find something of interest on the website. New event and marketing coordinator, Carol Henderson, will take over updating the website. Eventually staff hope to add virtual exhibits and expanded educational and historic material. We want to make the website a great resource since visitors cant always make it over to the Island when they want to do research," says Henderson. Historical content will be added as time allows which will ease the burden on Curator Jeannine Pedersen, who fields hundreds of research questions every year. The Museum also plans to build a rich links page to assist those with an interest in visiting the Island.
