Baywatch Avalon Activity Report Ending May 7, 2006

For the week of May 1 - 7, 2006

Monday, May 1st
2201 hrs
- Rescue 4 and Baywatch were called to a home where a person was reported having chest pains. The patient, an 81-year-old man, had been having intermittent chest and abdominal pains for most of the day. He was assessed and treatment was initiated at the scene. The patient was taken to CIMC in AFD Rescue 4.

Tuesday, May 2nd
1939 hrs
- Rescue 4 and Baywatch were called to assist a person injured in a fall. The patient, a 42-year-old man, suffered an injury to his head when he tripped and fell. The patient was immobilized at the scene and taken to CIMC for evaluation.

Friday, May 5th
0030 hrs
- Rescue 4 and Baywatch Avalon responded to a local bar for a 25 year old female with difficulty breathing.  Patient was assessed, treated and transported to CIMC for further evaluation.
0904 hrs - Rescue 4 and Baywatch Avalon Paramedics responded to a local housing complex for a 65 year old female who sustained injuries after a fall.  Patient was assessed, treated and transported to CIMI for further evaluation.

Saturday, May 6th
1107 hrs
- Baywatch Avalon, Patrol 55, and another Baywatch Rescue Vessel in the area responded to possible boat fire off of Toyon.  Crews arrived on scene and quickly evacuated the 2 persons onboard.  3 personnel were put onboard to investigate and found an overheated engine with no fire onboard.  The vessel and occupants were safely towed back to Avalon Harbor by Vessel Assist for repairs.

Sunday, May 7th
1004 hrs
- Rescue 4 and Baywatch were called by Harbor Patrolmen who were treating a person having a possible allergic reaction. The patient, a 60-year-old man, was suffering pain, swelling and itching to his upper extremities after taking a new medication. He was taken to CIMC in AFD Rescue 4 for evaluation by a physician.
