Harbor officers received a call from a commercial dive vessel reporting a person aboard with a head injury. Harbor officer EMT's responded to the dive vessel to assess the victim.  Dispatch was notified and due to the nature of the injured person Baywatch and Fire units were requested. The patient was transported to CIMC for further care until a medivac helicopter arrived.

A commercial fishing vessel reported a rigid bottom inflatable drifting near Abalone Point. Officers located the inflatable and towed it to a mooring.

Harbor officers received a VHF radio call from a 30' sailboat requesting help after the vessel had experienced engine failure near Pebbly beach. Officers responded and placed the vessel in tow.

Harbor officers were called to a mooring to help a vessel depart.

Harbor officers responded to an Avalon mooring for a medical related transport to the pier.

Harbor officers assisted two vessels that had wrapped their propellers up in mooring lines. The vessels were secured and divers called.

Harbor officers aboard Rescue 2 located a dive group outside of the dive park and advised them of the dangers of diving in a high traffic area.

Harbor officers received a complaint of a generator running after hours. Officers located the vessel and warned and advised the owner of Avalon Municipal code regarding generator hours.

Harbor officers received a call regarding a 30' sailboat described as out of control in the mooring area. Harbor officers responded to the vessel and found that it had lost power. The vessel was taken into tow without incident and secured to a mooring.

Harbor officers received a phone call from the owner of a commercial vessel requesting that harbor officers check his vessel for any unauthorized persons aboard. Officers checked the vessel and found no one aboard.

Harbor officers received a complaint of an inflatable moving a high rate of speed through the mooring area. Officers stopped the vessel and warned and advised the operator of Avalon Municipal code regarding vessel speed.

Saturday, April 29, 2006

Harbor officers received a call of a man overboard at an Avalon mooring. Officers responded and observed the man had climbed aboard his vessel with no injury.

A Harbor officer EMT was requested to respond and assist medics with a cardiac arrest at a hotel on front street.
