Sunday, February 6, 2006 1500 Harbor officers, Baywatch and Rescue 6 responded to the Cabrillo mole for a report of a woman down. The woman was assessed and transported to CIMC for further evaluation. 1600 Harbor officers warned and advised two men on the Pleasure Pier of AMC code regarding alcohol in public. The two men complied with officers request and disposed of their beverages. 2025 Harbor officers heard the broad cast of a "Pan Pan" or distress call on VHF channel 16. The distressed vessel reported being struck from behind by a vessel moving at a high rate of speed. Other identifying information was also broadcast including that the speeding vessel had departed the accident scene. The Avalon Harbor Patrol was able to match the description of the vessel to one of the vessel having left Avalon approximately one hour prior. Additional information including registration numbers, were passed to the US Coast Guard. Law enforcement officials were able to locate and detain the vessel near Long Beach.

Tuesday February 8, 2006 1100 While on routine patrol Harbor officers found a dinghy adrift. Officers towed the dinghy to a mooring where it was secured for the owner to claim. A report was filed. 1845 Harbor officers started preparing the harbor for the forecasted North East wind conditions.
Friday, February 11, 2006 0210 Harbor officers red tagged dinghies at all city docks for 72-hour time limit.
Saturday, February 12 , 2006 2345 While on routine patrol Harbor officers found a dinghy adrift. The dinghy was secured to a mooring and a report was filed. 1345 Harbor officers responded to a mooring in Avalon after receiving a report of a collision between two vessels. Damage was observed to the vessels. Information was gathered and a report filed. 1615 Harbor officers observed a fuel sheen near a mooring in Avalon. Officers investigated however the source could not be located. 1645 Harbor officers received a VHF call from a vessel reporting it had run aground in Avalon Harbor. Officers arrived on scene and secured a tow line to the vessel. The vessel was eased into deeper water and checked for leaks.
