Crafters invited to donate to auction

Each fall, Catalina's crafters and artists donate their time and talent to benefit the island's youngest residents.
PLAY Pre-school's annual Craft Auction showcases the ability and generosity of the entire community.

As the school's primary fundraiser, the craft auction raises funds for the purchase of supplies and equipment throughout the year.

The auction, which this year will be held on Friday, Nov. 7 at the Catalina Island Yacht Club, will feature dozens of hand-made items, ranging from knitted scarves to rocking horses, mosaic tables to jewelry.

"It's always a pleasure to see the talents of our residents and visitors," said Sherri Cline, a parent of PLAY pre-schooler. "Our community has some truly talented artists and craftspeople who are generous with their time and talents."

In addition to the craft auction, those who attend will also be able to partake in a raffle and silent auction.

Anyone who would like to donate a craft can call the pre-school at (310) 510-2324. Item pick-up can be arranged.
