LA County Rescue Boat Activity - Week ending September 22, 2008

For the week of September 15-22, 2008.

09/16
07:45 Baywatch Isthmus Respond to Ocean Rescue Visual on 36' sailboat aground
near Frog Rock just west of Avalon. Avalon HP assisted with removal from grounding and securing on mooring.

09/17
09:26 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EMS call, female complex medical history.  Pt. Transported to local Hospital in AFD's R4.
14:42 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EMS call, female with trauma.  Assessed/treated on scene then taken to local Hospital in AFD's R4.
16:13 Baywatch Isthmus Respond to ocean rescue, Little Giger Cove, 44' Sailboat going aground. Vessel towed to safety and assisted in anchoring.
20:37 Baywatch Isthmus Respond to EMS call, male with a hand laceration. Wound treated and patient released on scene.
17:15 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EMS call, transported to shore from the cruise ship "Monarch of the Seas".  The patient was transported by Copter18 to mainland Hospital for further care.

17:06 Baywatch Isthmus Respond to ocean rescue  a report of a stranded boater at Paradise Cove, east of Empire Landing. Boater was not in distress upon our arrival and only needed minor assistance.
18:05 Respond to EMS call, Male with trauma. The patient was treated on scene and released.

14:33 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EWMS call, male with medical complaint; Patient assessed, treated, but refused transport to the local hospital;

01:57 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EMS call, male with multiple facial abrasions; patient assessed, treated and released at the scene;
06:50 Baywatch Isthmus Respond to EMS call, male AP.  Assessed/treated on scene; Transport to local Hosptal via rescue boat and AFD's R4.
07:52 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EMS call, male patient transfer from Baywatch Isthmus crew at Float 5; patient transported to local hospital for further evaluation and care.
16:25 Baywatch Malibu Respond to ocean rescue a kite surfer in distress at Nicholas beach. We arrived on scene to 2 kite surfers in distress 300 yds south of the beach. Both kite surfers rescued and returned to the beach.
20:01 Baywatch Isthmus Respond to EMS call, female with possible trauma.  Pt. declined further treatment and transport.

04:50 Baywatch Avalon Respond to EMS call, female with no medical complaint after a domestic altercation.
