60th Annual Catalina Ski Race
Skiers left cloudy skies in Long Beach behind as they maneuvered the turning point off Hamilton Cove on Catalina Island. The smaller boats left Long Beach seven minutes ahead of the larger boats, making for an exciting half-way turn off the island.
For the fifth consecutive year Todd Haig and Kim Lumley won the men's and women's open divisions. This was the eighth consecutive win for Haig.
