For a Quarter Century JazzTrax has brought the biggest names to Avalon, each year featuring over 30 different stars of smooth jazz. Voted ‘Best Jazz Festival in America’ in 2011. Each October for three weekends the Festival begins Thursday with an Evening Unplugged Under the Stars on Descanso Beach before moving to the 1929 Casino Ballroom. Thousands come to get stranded on an island with the stars of smooth jazz and have witnessed the likes of the late Grover Washington Jr., Dutch Saxophonist Candy Dulfer, Spyro Gyra, the Rippingtons, Acoustic Alchemy, David Sanborn, Earl Klugh, Mindi Abair, Peter White, Rick Braun, to name just a few.
