50 Mile Run Watch Video January 16 One of the country's most challenging and scenic 50-milers. No cars, no smog, just great terrain, incredible views, fascinating historical sites, a well-organized race, nice people, great food and even an occasional buffalo sighting. This annual run crosses Catalina Island from Avalon to Two Harbors and back. Proceeds from the run benefit local island charaties. Additional Information
Valentine's Day Dance Watch Video February 14 Celebrate this Valentine's Day weekend on Catalina Island, the Island of Romance at an "All You Need is Love" dance. Paperback Writer, a Beatles tribute band, will perform live at the legendary Casino Ballroom. Additional Information
Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup Watch Video February 20 The Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup, hosted by the Catalina Conservancy Divers, is an annual dive event held in Avalon Harbor at Catalina Island once a year on the Saturday following President’s Day. The event was started in the 1970’s by the local dive community in an effort to cleanup Avalon Harbor, and this event is the only time diving is permitted there. The event has grown over the years to become one of the most publicized and popular dive events in Southern California. Additional Information
Buffalo Run Watch Video February 27 The Buffalo Run is the ultimate in trail running using the East End trails of Catalina Island. This half marathon course takes you from sea level to a 1600 foot elevation then returns to sea level. You will experience spectacular views of San Clemente Island and Avalon. The race also features the popular flat and fast 5k course. Many parts of the half marathon course are in areas that are not accessible by the public without permits. The course is beautiful, with unbelievable vistas and pristine trails that few get to traverse. Additional Information
Catalina Island Marathon Watch Video March 13 Enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery while running 26.2 miles over the Island of Catalina. The race traverses mostly dirt trails and roads through areas of the interior of the Island where very few have gone. The race starts in Two Harbors and runs to Avalon. It is a hilly, challenging Marathon, but worth every mile! Who knows, you may even run with some buffalos! Additional Information

Catalina Island Conservancy Ball April 10 The 15th Annual Catalina Island Conservancy Ball includes dinner, music, dancing and silent and live auctions. Watch for details. The 2010 Conservancy Ball – Catalina Rocks! – celebrates the work of the Conservancy as well as the many unique geological features that the Island possesses.

Hyperbaric Chamber Day May 5 Chamber Day is not only a fund-raiser for our Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, but also the largest single-day scuba charity event in the United States. Spend the day diving Catalina and touring our Chamber, and will spend the evening dining under the Blue Whale at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Watch for details.

Eco Marathon Watch Video November 13 During the course of the marathon, you will traverse single track trails, ridgelines, and vistas that will afford views of the Pacific Ocean – from BOTH sides of the island. You will run through three entirely different eco-systems and see the plant life and animal life in each. Don’t be surprised to see buffalo on the course, seals in the water, and bald eagles overhead.
Mt. Ada Open House Watch Video December 6 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - This is one of the Catalina Island Museum's longest running events. The Museum buys all the rooms in the Inn and helps you kick off the holiday in style with cookies, wassil and the historic Mt. Ada mansion, once the retreat of William Wrigley Jr. Be sure to buy tickets to win the entire Inn for the night and purchase raffle tickets at the vent and support the Catalina Island Museum.
